“He killed her to fulfill a prophecy”, Man stabbed estranged wife to death months after court denied her restraining order against him

According to the police officials, the 45-year-old man is accused of stabbing to death his estranged wife, months after a court denied her a permanent restraining order against him. The suspect allegedly called the victim starbeast and said ‘he killed her to fulfill a prophecy.’ Authorities said the 45-year-old man showed up Sunday morning at the woman’s home in with a Bible in his hand before confronting her.

This unfortunate incident occurred right before 11 a.m. on Sunday. It happened at the victim’s house in Washington. The responding officers found the suspect, Michael Ryan Murrah, holding a knife with blood on his hands. The son was home, but unharmed. The victim, Monica Murrah, died at a local hospital from her injuries.

Michael Ryan Murrah told investigators that he killed his wife in cold blood, stating he stabbed her multiple times in the area of her neck. According to reports, the victim tried to get a permanent restraining order against her husband as the couple were entangled in a divorce battle.

Unfortunately, a court rejected her request. The victim feared for her life and the life of their 8-year-old son.

“Michael has threatened suicide during arguments. One time he even grabbed a large knife and sat outside our bedroom threatening to kill himself. I’m terrified if he does, what if he kills me and our son also.” she wrote in her filing.

She had gotten a temporary restraining order in July 2020. Her ex-husband allegedly got high and hit her and choked her on several occasions. Her husband had also choked the then-7-year-old son, the report said. The restraining order was denied after a full hearing in August over insufficient grounds. The victim filed for divorce around the same time.

The 45-year-old suspect is facing a first-degree murder charge with $2 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 19. This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
