According to the police officials, the 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday. Police say he was arrested for his alleged role in killing three people whose bodies were found in a dumpster that had been set on fire. The man was taken into custody on a charge of capital murder of multiple victims. He allegedly admitted his involvement in the death of the three individuals.
His name is Jason Alan Thornburg and he allegedly admitted to killing two other people on two separate occasions in addition to the three victims found in the dumpster in Texas. On September 22, fire department crews responded to a dumpster fire on the 3100 block of Bonnie Drive.
While extinguishing the fire, the fire department crews found three bodies, which included a child, a young teenager or adult female, and an adult male. The bodies were burned and heavily dismembered, authorities said. Additionally, there were body parts unaccounted for.
Authorities identify the male victim as 42-year-old David Lueras. Police say the suspect and the adult male victim lived together in a motel room, but he did not know the two women very well. The suspect told police that he put the body parts in plastic containers and wore a Hazmat suit while transporting them to the dumpster.
Thornburg was a person of interest in the May death of his roommate, Mark Jewell. Police say his roommate was reportedly found inside their residence, which was on fire. Officers reportedly did not have probable cause to arrest him at the time.
Police say the suspect allegedly admitted to killing Jewell. He also told authorities he killed his girlfriend in Arizona as a sacrifice.
Thornburg said ‘he was being told to commit sacrifices and spoke about his knowledge of the Bible.’ This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
