Local resident arrested on drug and weapon charges

Davenport, IA – According to the Davenport Police Department, his name is Darron Mayo and he faces charges of controlled-substance violation, failure to affix a drug stamp and control of a firearm by a felon.

Law enforcement authorities served a search warrant in an apartment on the 3500 block of Heatherton Drive right after 5 a.m. Wednesday.

During the investigation, officers found: crack cocaine, marijuana, Xanax, cash and a handgun.

Authorities say the 24-year-old man had an outstanding warrant out of Rock Island County for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Mayo was arrested and booked in the Scott County Jail.
