Local resident has been released on bond after police say he fired a gun last week

Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, his name is Kendrick Miller and he faces a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

This incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. Thursday. It happened in the 1400 block of Washington Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of gunfire.

The responding officers found the 43-year-old suspect at the scene with a stolen firearm.

Witnesses saw the suspect display and point the gun in several directions and then run from the scene. 

The responding officers found several spent shell casings in the middle of the street and found the firearm in the path he used to ran from the scene.

Authorities say the 43-year-old suspect is set for a hearing Friday in Scott County Court. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
