The U.S. will buy 500 million more doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to share through the global COVAX alliance

The U.S plans to distribute 200 million shots this year.

Another 300 million in the first half of next year to 92 lower-income countries and the African Union.

The U.S. will buy 500 million more doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to share through the global COVAX alliance for donation to 92 lower-income countries and the African Union over the next year.

The program is led by the World Health Organization and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.
