According to the court documents, the 22-year-old suspect is accused of killing his 7-year-old niece and his 42-year-old neighbor. Authorities said he accidentally shot the girl as he confronted his 42-year-old neighbor, then shot him to death with a handgun he was prohibited from possessing because he is a convicted felon.

According to reports, the shooting occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers found two victims. Police said the 42-year-old victim, Clifford Hall, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 7-year-old child, Isabel Agnes Delgadillo Martin, was brought to a hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Police said that a neighborhood disturbance between two groups escalated into the tragic fatal shooting. The 22-year-old suspect from California, Tyrice Martin, was arrested on Wednesday.

Prosecutors said he accidentally shot the girl as he confronted his 42-year-old neighbor, then shot him to death with a handgun he was prohibited from possessing because he is a convicted felon.

He was arrested and is being held without bail. According to jail records, Martin was charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter, and possession of firearm by a felon.

According to the court documents, the 22-year-old suspect has past criminal charges dating back to 2018, including unlawful possession of drugs and ammunition. He was reportedly released from custody in early October.

He was released on his own recognizance with ankle bracelet monitoring in a case alleging a prior strike conviction. The 22-year-old man was released after telling a judge his wife was terminally ill.

Family members said the 22-year-old suspect fought with the neighbor the day before the shooting and the dispute may have started over something as meaningless as cigarettes. This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
