Davenport, IOWA – According to the health officials, a total of 450,915 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Iowa since the start of the pandemic. The Iowa Department of Public Health says that 30 COVID-19 deaths were reported as well, bringing the states’ total to 6,337. Iowa’s 14-day positivity rate is now 8.9%, up from 8.7% on Monday. The Iowa Department of Public Health reports 578 Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19. Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 9 p.m. Wednesday. It happened in the 900 block of East High Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found a teenage boy who had been shot in his hand. Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the parking lot of West High School. Authorities say the girl was clinging to the rear of a vehicle as it drove through the parking lot of West High School. The girl then lost her grasp and fell to the pavement. The victim hit her head and suffered life-threatening injuries. Police say she was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Iowa City. This incident is still under investigation. Davenport, IOWA – According to the statement, Governor Reynolds said that $230 million in increased funding passed last legislative session will go towards current programs that support housing. The additional $100 million dollars, announced on Wednesday, means a total of $330 million is being allocated to this issue. Iowa is expected to gain 47,000 more households by 2030. Governor Reynolds says that this money will go toward several initiatives. According to the court documents, a 26-year-old woman shot and killed a woman who tried to help her through the cold weather last February. Prosecutors say she’s going to prison for the next 20 years. The 26-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Friday to second-degree murder in the Feb. 18 death of a 33-year-old woman. Prosecutors say the victim was shot on Feb. 15 and died three days later at a hospital in Missouri. A 6-year-old girl died on a thrill ride at amusement park on Sunday night, according to tragic reports.
