IOWA – According to the police officials, the shooting occurred right before 4 a.m. Saturday. It happened at 1640 F Avenue NW in Cedar Rapids. CRPD officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found the victim. Authorities say that the man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was later taken to a local hospital. What was supposed to be a fun family vacation turned into a tragedy for a family from Ohio. The family had traveled to North Carolina for the weekend and were staying at a beach rental home. Sadly, on the very first day of their vacation, the family had to call 911 to rescue a 7-year-old boy who got caught between two doors of a home elevator. A 73-year-old Vietnam veteran is dead, and two people are in police custody after an attempted carjacking. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon. “I was expecting to see him today,” his daughter said. “This isn’t worth it. Someone loves this person, someone needs this person in their life.” His name is Keith Cooper, a Marine veteran who served two tours in Vietname, and he was at a shopping plaza around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when two people approached him and demanded he hand over his Hyundai SUV. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, Gov. Reynolds announced that Iowa would fund the mission after the release of agreements showing the effort was taking place at no cost to Texas. She also added that there still is a chance Texas could eventually pick up the costs after the mission concludes. Officials say that Iowa troopers, tactical officers, command staff and an investigator will be part of the deployment. IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Fontae Buelow and he was found guilty of second degree murder. Buelow was sentenced to 50 years in prison. Buelow was previously convicted at his first trial in January 2018. According to the court documents, he stabbed his girlfriend during a fight at a home in Dubuque in March 2017. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, Iowa is transitioning to a free at home saliva test kit. Officials say that these test kits will be available in 125 locations across the state. Iowans will be able to order a kit online through Test Iowa that they will mail to your house. The kits will be processed by the Iowa State Hygienic Lab. How this works – Iowans will fill a tube with saliva and ship it via UPS to the state lab in Coralville. Once the lab receives the test, it will take them 24 hours to return the results…

Linn County, IOWA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 9 p.m. Thursday.  It happened at 969 Ivanhoe Rd in Mount Vernon.  Authorities say that two people were involved in a domestic disturbance. A 28-year-old woman stabbed a man in the upper left chest with a knife. The extent of the injuries is not known at this time. Her name is Charinea Triggs and she was arrested.
