IOWA – According to the statement, this bill will protect drivers who unintentionally hit protesters in the street during a protest. This bill also increases the penalties for rioting and blocking roadways, and protects officers in these situations. The Lawmakers passed the bill last month. Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, the man was arrested around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday near the 500 block of West 65th Street. His name is Darrien Darvon Irving and he ran from police for a short distance. The 30-year-old man was taken into custody. He is being charged with burglary in the first degree, felon in possession, delivery of a controlled substance, drug tax stamp, interference with official acts, eluding, assault causing bodily injury, failure to maintain control, no insurance, and driving under suspension. Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident happened around 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning, June 17th. It occurred at River Drive and Mound Street. Police say the intersection was closed and it opened back up before 7:15 a.m.  His name is Marcus Ingram and he was riding his motorcycle west bound on River Drive. IOWA – No additional deaths were reported. According to the health officials, total of 1,430,938 people in Iowa are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19. More than 2.8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state. A total of 372,733 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Iowa and 6,102 people have died with the virus since the pandemic began. The state reported an additional 1,055 individuals were tested for COVID-19. A total of 1,780,342 individuals have been tested in Iowa since the pandemic began. The state reported 86 people are hospitalized in Iowa with COVID-19.

Iowa City – According to the statement, this will be the event’s fourth year. The officials say that this year’s party will cover 14 blocks of downtown with events, happening throughout the day on July 24. It will be the largest footprint in the event’s history. Everything is completely free and available for all age groups. Cups will be also sold to allow people 21 and older to purchase and take drinks into the streets. IOWA – According to the statement, this unfortunate incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the 1500 block of Butterfield Drive. Officers responded to a report of a woman with a gunshot injury to her arm. When the officers arrived on scene, they discovered that the shooting was an accident. She is being treated at UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital and will not be charged as there was no criminal intent to the incident. This story will be updated when new information is available.
