DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Davenport Police Department is asking residents to consider registering their home security cameras through its new program. The Camera Registration Program can be especially helpful during the holiday season when many are expecting deliveries to their homes. Police say investigations frequently involve officers canvassing areas surrounding a crime scene for security cameras. Knowing where cameras are located can help officers speed up investigations. DAVENPORT, IOWA – The Davenport Community School District is planning to ask for another waiver from the state to continue fully online learning as COVID-19 numbers continue to climb. The district, like many others in the Quad-Cities, recently switched to a fully remote learning model because of the Quad-Cities area’s increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The current waiver is scheduled to expire on on Dec. 1. DAVENPORT, IOWA – A Davenport man faces a charge of first-degree theft after police tracked a stolen trailer through a GPS device. At 10:15 a.m. Feb. 6, Davenport executed a search warrant on the 3200 block of Sunnyside Ave., Davenport. The warrant was connected to a dump trailer reported stolen from a job site in Moline. The GPS – global positioning system – on the trailer showed it was at the Davenport address. On Sunday, police saw Kyla Blackhawk running from a stolen black 2019 Kia Sorento shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the area of Iowa and 13th streets, an arrest affidavit says. Like all teachers nationwide, Seifert, 47, was forced by the Covid-19 pandemic this past spring to come up with virtual content for his classes at Madison Elementary School. DAVENPORT, IOWA – For a little more than two hours on Wednesday, it was a madhouse on West Locust Street in Davenport. Hundreds of people navigated their way into and around the parking lot at Riefe’s Family Restaurant, 1417 W. Locust St., to get their last taste of home-style cooking.
