Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right before 4 p.m. Wednesday. It happened on County Home Road east of North Troy Road. Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle head-on collision. The responding deputies discovered that Volkswagen Jetta was traveling eastbound on County Home Road when it collided head-on with a Subaru Outback which was traveling westbound.  The 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Jetta suffered serious injuries and was flown to the University of Iowa Hospital by AirCare. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 12:37 a.m. early Wednesday morning. It happened in the 1600 block of E Ave NW. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers discovered that the vehicle vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pole adjacent to a driveway. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old mother and the 31-year-old father say their baby daughter has months to live. The 1-year-old child is suffering from a rare condition which was caused by a gene defect both parents carry. The parents knew something was wrong with their child when the baby started to go off her food at six weeks. The baby also started to lose weight, the couple said. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, the fatal shooting occurred right after 3 a.m. early Monday morning. It happened in the area of 12th Avenue SW and Auburn Drive SW. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers found one adult male victim. Police said the 36-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest area and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Dustin Frondle. Davenport, IOWA – The 22-year-old defendant was sentenced on April 21, court records say. His name is Monterious Bullock and he was sentenced to 90 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition. According to the court documents, the 22-year-old defendant was ordered to serve three years of supervised release to follow his prison term and immediately pay a $300 Special Assessment to the Crime Victims’ Fund. Black and Asian law students are calling for a university professor to be suspended after she reportedly said that the country would be better off with fewer Asians and that Blacks and Asians are resentful of Western peoples’ outsized achievements.
