West Des Moines, IOWA – According to the statement, Hy-Vee is donating $50,000 from the company’s One Step charitable program to fund the event “Unite for Ukraine”, which will be held at its Ron Pearson Center, 5820 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. According to the officials, Hy-Vee has had a partnership with Meals from the Heartland since 2011 and has provided funding for more than 13.5 million meals to those in need. Dyersville, IOWA – According to the statement, the new project will include the building of nine new baseball and softball fields, dormitories for teams, and a hotel. The new project is set to be completed by the end of 2023. Officials said that the development will then phase in the addition of a 100,000-square-foot field house, a concert amphitheater, an RV park, a disability-inclusive park with disability, and trails through the corn fields. The 8-month-old baby girl, who was born with a rare condition and spent 6 months in a hospital, finally received her life-saving transplant. The child’s parents said that their daughter was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called dilated cardiomyopathy at around 2 months old. “Our pregnancy was normal and we had an uncomplicated delivery and actually went home with her. Mount Pleasant, IOWA – According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the shooting occurred Tuesday night. It happened near the Iowa Wesleyan University. Mount Pleasant Police Department officers and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call. The campus was notified to shelter in place while the police searched on and near campus. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one victim.  Police officials said the victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the statement, Representative Jindrich stated that 29 pit bull dogs were taken in by the Muscatine Humane Society in 2019 with 26 euthanized. Officials said that the number of euthanized pit bulls was in error. Scott County, IOWA – According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident occurred right before 11 p.m. late Sunday night. It happened on Great River Road. Scott County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash. The responding deputies discovered that the 63-year-old driver of Cadillac CTS was traveling north on Great River Road when he lost control of the vehicle.
