Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 1500 block of E Avenue. Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews saw flames and smoke coming out of the home. They were not able to stop flames from heavily damaging the home. No one was injured in this incident, CRFD officials said. One of the residents dialed 911 after discovering fire outside. Bremer County, IOWA – Iowa State Patrol officials said the accident occurred around 8:51 a.m. Tuesday. It happened on Highway 63. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 43-year-old driver of Dodge Caravan crashed into the rear end of a Freightliner tractor trailer. The tractor trailer had slowed down due to crossing traffic from Bremer County Road C33, ISP officials said. The 31-year-old suspect is now facing multiple charges, including:interference with official acts – firearm and control of a firearm by a felon. This incident occurred right after 5 p.m. Monday. The 36-year-old man, who was reportedly one of the sickest COVID patients at the hospital, says he regrets not getting vaccinated. The man said he went so far into the pandemic without getting sick that he figured he could shrug off getting the vaccine. He had no preexisting conditions and was otherwise healthy.  The 36-year-old man from North Carolina, Steve Rose, said it all started out feeling like just a cold. Chickasaw County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred around 10:10 a.m. Monday. It happened on Highway 346. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The responding troopers discovered that the 43-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, rolled and landed on its roof. Troopers said the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Nicholas Dietz. Marshalltown, IOWA – Marshalltown Police Department officials said this incident occurred around 2:49 a.m. early Tuesday morning. It happened on S 6th Avenue. Marshalltown Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers made contact with the homeowners who told them that someone shot into their home. They were able to identify the suspect using a doorbell camera footage. Authorities arrested Adan Manzo-Macias in connection with this incident. Waterloo, IOWA – According to the Waterloo Police Department, this incident occurred around 8:11 a.m. Monday morning. It happened on 6th Street. Waterloo Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers discovered that the female pedestrian was reportedly crossing 6th Street from the city parking area when she was hit by a driver who was turning left from Washington Street.
