Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right after 11 a.m. Sunday. It happened near the intersection of West 13th St. and N. Zenith Ave. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found one victim. Police said the victim suffered not life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. No suspects have been arrested yet. No other information is available at the moment. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Bret Klima and he was sentenced to 30 years in prison. The 32-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to one count each of homicide by vehicle-operating under the influence and serious injury by a vehicle. Klima was sentenced on Monday, court records say. The sentences will be consecutive for up to 30 years. The 32-year-old defendant was ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution. This man reportedly needs a lifesaving organ transplant and he claims he will not get the COVID-19 vaccine, despite a hospital refusing to do the transplant without it. The man, who is unvaccinated, believes the vaccine should be a choice and no one should be forced to get it. The man also said he’s had COVID twice and doesn’t believe he needs the vaccine. Bettendorf, IOWA – According to the Bettendorf Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 6 p.m. Saturday. It happened in the 1000 block of Meadows Circle. Bettendorf Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews saw smoke and flames coming out of the side of the chimney. They were able to extinguish the fire in less than 10 minutes. No injuries were reported, officials said. The cause of fire remains under investigation. Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, his name is JohnVontreal Miller and he was taken into custody on Friday. The 19-year-old man is now facing multiple charges, including: interference with official acts and eluding, interference with official acts resulting in serious injury, use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime and fourth-degree theft. This incident occurred right before 10 a.m. Friday. Iowa State Patrol trooper reportedly saw the suspect’s vehicle (Hyundai Elantra) traveling 83 in a 65 mph zone south on Highway 61. Davenport, IOWA – According to the state officials, the grants would go to the following projects: Dyersville East Road Utilities Project, ICON Water Trails Project, and Lewis & Clark Regional Water System project. In a bizarre incident, the 49-year-old woman allegedly told a woman at Walmart that she wanted to buy her son. It all began when she allegedly approached the other woman in the self-checkout line at Walmart where her 1-year-old son was seated in the cart.  According to reports, the woman from Texas, Rebecca Lanette Taylor, allegedly asked if she could purchase the smallest of the woman’s two children for $250,000.
