Linn County, IOWA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 3 p.m. Thursday. It happened in the 1700 block of Timber Ridge Dr. Fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire. The responding crews discovered that the vehicle caught fire in the driveway and spread to the garage of the residence.  The responding crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No one was injured in this incident. The cause of fire remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.

According to the police officials, the 36-year-old mother was arrested and charged after she tried to run down a group of middle school students with her minivan last week. The mom reportedly told investigators that she was upset because her son was the victim of bullying. During an interview, the suspect reportedly admitted that she had been intentionally targeting the student who threw her to the ground. “I’m not gonna lie, I did try to hit him a little bit with my car” she reportedly said. According to the court documents, the 24-year-old woman was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after she was convicted of killing a blind man in his own home. The defendant admitted to entering the victim’s home through a window. She then saw the victim asleep in his bed and left his residence to go to a relative’s house, where she got a hammer. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, his name is Pablo Miramontes-Gonzalez and he was arrested on Monday. Police said the 31-year-old suspect faces charges of assault and interference with official acts. This unfortunate incident occurred right after 12 p.m. Monday. It happened on Interstate 280 and West Kimberly Road. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Cass County, IOWA – According to the Atlantic Police Department, his name is Richard Doss Jr. and he was arrested on Monday. Police said the suspect was arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred on Dec. 5. Doss Jr. is now charged him with attempted murder and willful injury-causing serious injury. On Dec. 5, right before midnight, the victim arrived at the local hospital with severe stab wounds. The stabbing the incident occurred in the 1300 block of E. 10th Street. Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred on Dec. 1. It happened at the intersection of Highway 150 and 240th Street. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash. The responding deputies discovered that the female victim was trapped in her vehicle after her vehicle was hit by a semi truck. The family of a high school footballer player from Texas says he is lying unconscious in the hospital after being savagely assaulted by a group of fellow students on Friday evening. According to the victim’s family, the 16-year-old boy had been invited to a social gathering by friends late last week. Once at the aforementioned party, the 16-year-old student, Cole Hagan, was reportedly told by another teenager that his truck, parked outside, had been damaged. Waterloo, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Eric DeAngelo Griggs and he was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison. Griggs was also ordered to pay $16,552.90 in restitution to the victim’s family for funeral and trial-related expenses and serve a five-year term of supervised release after his term ends. Prosecutors said the 40-year-old defendant was found guilty of distribution of heroin resulting in the death of a young woman as well as two counts of using a communications facility to facilitate a drug crime back in April 2021.
