Bettendorf, IOWA – His name is Tyree Williams and he now faces a charge of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. The 23-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday. The shooting incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 19. It happened in the 400 block of 23rd Street in Bettendorf. Investigators said the suspect fired 5 shots into an apartment building’s exterior. Two bullets penetrated into the interior of an apartment. A preliminary hearing for Williams is set for Dec. 22 in Scott County Court. This story will be updated as new information become available. 

Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, the shooting occurred right after 8 p.m. Thursday. It happened at 812 6th Street Southwest. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers discovered that the victim walked into a hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The 32-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody on Monday. Prosecutors said the man is accused of beating his girlfriend’s 3-year-old child to death and is now charged with one count of murder for killing the 3-year-old boy. The child’s mother was charged with one count of neglect of a dependent. Family members told police that he was never affectionate with the 3-year-old boy and that the child had bruises and scratches on his face when they last saw him and the couple blamed the injuries on a dog. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right before midnight late Wednesday night. It happened in the 1500 block of West 8th Street.  Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers discovered that the victim was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.  The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time. Police said that a vehicle parked on the corner of the 800 block of Sturdevant Street was struck by stray bullets.  No other injuries were reported. Plymouth County, IOWA – According to the Le Mars Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 5 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 100 block of 5th Avenue SW in Le Mars. Le Mars Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers discovered that Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on 5th Avenue SW. The 10-year-old boy was traveling westbound from the sidewalk area when he was struck by the Corolla. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The 24-year-old mother and her boyfriend were arrested and taken into custody on Nov. 14. Both suspects are arrested after the woman’s 2-year-old daughter was killed. Prosecutors said the child suffered brain trauma. During an interview, the mother told investigators that she used meth in the bathroom before she woke up to feed her daughter. She also told investigators that she and her boyfriend regularly left the toddler by herself while they go out to purchase or use drugs.
