Monroe County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 1 p.m. Saturday. It happened on 148th Street in Eddyville. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. The victim’s father told authorities that while he was leaving his home and backing out of his driveway, he did not see his 1-year-old son leave the residence. The car then hit the toddler while backing out of the driveway. Unfortunately, the 1-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was later identified as Trevor Lane Gordon. Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred right before 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. It happened in the 17000 block of 45th Street. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call. When the deputies arrived on scene, they found shell casings. No one was injured in this incident. Deputies arrested two suspects on Friday, Dayton Perkins and Brandon Latham. Perkins has been arrested on a valid warrant for intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Scott County, IOWA – According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 3 p.m. Saturday. It happened in the 26000 block of Bluff Road near Princeton. Scott County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a rollover crash. The responding deputies discovered that the 28-year-old driver was driving westbound when he failed to navigate a curve and drove straight off the road. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, this incident occurred right before 1 a.m. early Saturday morning. It happened at 4342 16th Ave. SW. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. When the officers arrived on scene, they found blood in the parking lot. Police say they didn’t find any victims.  Around 3:15 a.m., the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics reported a 19-year old male victim arrived the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. It happened at the intersection of Southwest 9th Street and Porter Avenue. Des Moines Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash. The responding officers found one adult male victim. Police say the 35-year-old victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver fled the scene, police said. This incident remains under investigation. According to the police officials, the 31-year-old mom was arrested on Monday after her 1-year-old baby girl ingested her drugs. The woman allegedly called 911 and told authorities that a baby had overdosed. The responding deputies found the 1-year-old child on the floor and unresponsive. Witnesses told authorities the 1-year-old baby was unresponsive for about 30 minutes after ingesting illegal drugs, possibly fentanyl. Deputies immediately administered Narcan to the little girl to resuscitate her. The baby began to breathe slowly after receiving it. According to the court documents, the 42-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to all charges against him: attempted murder, two counts of child molestation, kidnapping, criminal confinement, battery with serious bodily injury and strangulation. Prosecutors say the 42-year-old man admitted that he used his pet dogs to lure the 9-year-old victim into his apartment before he kidnapped, molested, and attempted to murder the little girl. The 42-year-old man from Indiana, James Brian Chadwell, told prosecutors that he was very drunk at the time he committed the crimes. He said that he did not have a clear memory of what happened.
