Fayette County, IOWA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Monday. It happened near the corner of V Avenue and Iowa Highway 93. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash. Northbound Chrysler Pacifica failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by westbound Ford F550. Deputies say that both vehicles ended up in the ditch. Both drivers suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. This incident remains under investigation. Davenport, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Charlie Gary and he was sentenced to life in prison for the 2020 death of Robert Long. Prosecutors say the 20-year-old defendant has been convicted for first-degree murder, burglary, robbery and abuse of corpse. According to the police officials, the 20-year-old defendant asked the older man if he wanted his driveway shoveled. Des Moines, IOWA – According to the Des Moines Police Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 6 p.m. Tuesday. It happened near the intersection of Walnut Street and 13th Street. Man called 911 to report that someone attempted to stab him with a knife. The responding officers arrived on scene and saw the suspect. Police say the armed female suspect ignored the officers’ commands and started walking towards him. The responding officer was forced to shoot the suspect. First aid was provided by paramedics from the fire department and the jail staff. Despite the medical assistance, the 54-year-old inmate was pronounced dead. Davenport, IOWA – According to the company officials, the treatment would be the first long-acting antibody combination to receive an emergency use authorization for COVID-19 prevention. Officials say that the AZD7442 treatment may help protect people whose immune systems don’t respond adequately to vaccination. AstraZeneca says that human trials showed that AZD7442 reduced the risk of developing symptomatic COVID-19 by 77%. More than three-quarters of the participants had suppressed immune systems and other conditions that made them more susceptible to severe disease.
