Waterloo, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Martavis Tayshon Wise and he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter with a dangerous weapon and other charges. The 30-year-old defendant was sentenced to up to 60 years in prison for the 2018 beating death of Johannes Rodenburgh. Prosecutors say that he must serve at least 14 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
