The additional $100 million dollars, announced on Wednesday, means a total of $330 million is being allocated to this issue. Iowa is expected to gain 47,000 more households by 2030. According to the court documents, a 26-year-old woman shot and killed a woman who tried to help her through the cold weather last February. Prosecutors say she’s going to prison for the next 20 years. The 26-year-old woman pleaded guilty on Friday to second-degree murder in the Feb. 18 death of a 33-year-old woman. Prosecutors say the victim was shot on Feb. 15 and died three days later at a hospital in Missouri. The 27-year-old suspect was booked on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon. A 29-year-old mother on Friday was indicted on murder charges after her 3-year-old daughter died from a fentanyl overdose. Prosecutors say this was not the first time the child had ingested drugs while in the care of her mother. This unfortunate incident occurred on June 4, when the 29-year-old mother, Hillary Goding, called 911. The first responders found her daughter, Hailey Goding, unresponsive. They transported her to hospital, where she died two days later.
