West Burlington, IOWA – According to the West Burlington Police Department, the shooting occurred right after 3 p.m. Sunday. It happened at 631 Swan Street in West Burlington. West Burlington Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. The responding officers found one male victim. Police said the 18-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. His name is Owen Laird and he was later pronounced dead. Bremer County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred Monday night. It happened on Highway 3. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. Plow, pulled by pickup truck, crossed the center line and hit the semi heading the opposite direction. Troopers said the 70-year-old driver of the semi was taken to a hospital for treatment. Bettendorf, IOWA – According to the Bettendorf Fire Department, this accident occurred right before 11 a.m. Monday. It happened at 2701 Olympia Drive. Bettendorf Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews saw fire coming from the kitchen and garage. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. According to the court documents, the 43-year-old mother and the 52-year-old father starved their adopted daughter to death. Prosecutors also said that they kept her locked up in a dog cage bound and gagged with duct tape to prevent the 6-year-old child from eating during the night. Fairfield, IOWA – According to the court documents, both defendants, Jeremy Goodale and Willard Miller, are being held in jail. Prosecutors said both defendants are charged with murdering Fairfield High School teacher Nohema Graber. They are accused of: first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony. Authorities located the remains of the victim at Chautauqua Park in Fairfield on November 3rd. The 66-year-old woman was reported missing earlier in the day.
