Prosecutors say the 36-year-old dog owner was acquitted on Friday after the man’s two pit-bulls mauled to death his 82-year-old neighbor. Prosecutors say the victim was mauled to death while she was going for her morning walk. The man was charged with second-degree manslaughter after his two dogs attacked and killed the 82-year-old woman and her small dog in April 2017. According to the court documents, jurors convicted two fired police officers of second-degree murder for using a Taser on a man dozens of times. The jury recommended 10 years in prison for both defendants. Prosecutors said that the two were charged last year with murdering 28-year-old man, who died of a heart attack minutes after the arrest. Muscatine, IOWA – According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, her name is Joanna Lynn Davis and she was arrested and taken into custody on Nov. 4. The 37-year-old woman has been charged with controlled substance violation. Davis made an initial appearance in Muscatine County Court on Friday. Prosecutors say the 37-year-old woman could serve up to 25 years in prison. On March 30, Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Ford Explorer in the 2700 block of 120th Street NE in Swisher. Bettendorf, IOWA – According to the statement, this unfortunate incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. Saturday. It happened at 6484 Eagle Ridge Road. Bettendorf Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire. The responding crews discovered that the back of the residence was heavily involved in fire. Rock Island Arsenal Fire, Riverdale Fire and Davenport Fire responded to assist. Authorities say that the male occupant of the home was able to escape. Johnson County, IOWA – According to the Iowa State Patrol, this unfortunate incident occurred on Monday. It happened on Highway 1 at Fox Lane. Iowa State Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash. When the troopers arrived on scene, they found two victims. They say one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The responding troopers troopers discovered that a vehicle hit a deer that ran into the roadway. Authorities say the vehicle then crossed the center line, hitting another vehicle head-on. According to the court documents, the 37-year-old father was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the 2019 assault of his 2-month-old daughter. Prosecutors say the defendant beat his infant daughter, leaving her blind, brain damaged and in a medically-induced coma. He admitted to the court that he got angry over his child’s constant crying. Waterloo, IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Chandrique Day and he was sentenced to 120 months in prison. Prosecutors say the 21-year-old defendant possessed multiple handguns, some of which were equipped with an extended magazine as well as an AR-15 equipped with a high-capacity magazine. He pleaded guilty on May 14th, 2021. The 21-year-old man must also serve a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, his name is Brett Bonjour and he faces felony charges of going armed with intent and intimidation with a dangerous weapon. The 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday. On Oct. 12, Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. This incident occurred in the 1800 block of Kirkwood Boulevard.
