Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the police officials, his name is Nestor Lagunes Dominguez and he was arrested for the shooting death of Jose Florentino Ramirez Landin. Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. Police say the 40-year-old victim was shot in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue SW. He later died. Investigators say the identification of the suspect comes as the result of an investigation that included numerous interviews, evidence collection, review of surveillance video. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, the new park opened on Thursday in the Jersey Farms subdivision. Officials say that the nine-acre park includes a playground, walking trail and pavilion. This is the first park in the Jersey Farms neighborhood throughout a growing area. The opening of the park completed the first phase of the project. A young woman was caught on camera placing a bloodied backpack in a store dumpster. Authorities are now searching for the woman after the backpack was found to contain suspected human remains. According to reports, the female then walked into the store without the backpack before leaving the premises. According to the court documents, the 27-year-old suspect stands accused of burning 2-year-old boy with a torch before killing him and dumping his body in an apartment complex dumpster in February. Prosecutors say the man was charged with murder in the first degree and ten counts of child abuse in March. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of pedestrian hit by vehicle. Police say Ford Escape was traveling east in the right lane of Locust Street, when a 12-year-old pedestrian ran south from Elsie Avenue across Locust Street.
