Davenport, IA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. at the 1400 block of Gaines Street. DPD officers responded for a report of shots being fired. When the officers arrived on scene, they were informed a shooting victim had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The victim, who is only being identified at this time as an adult male, was injured and is expected to recover. A surveillance camera in the bedroom of a 4-year-old boy might help determine his killer. Young Gernon’s body was discovered on Saturday morning on the street near his home in Dallas, Texas. An 18-year-old man has been charged with burglary and kidnapping, but is also suspected of killing the 4-year-old. The 41-year-old man was pulled over April 9 by a Grundy Center officer for suspicion of driving while barred. His interaction with police escalated and ended with Lang allegedly barricading himself inside his home and fatally shooting Sgt. Jim Smith. Davenport, IA – According to the statement, the meth conspiracy started by July 1, 2020 and continued until March 29, 2021.  It involved the possession of numerous firearms and multiple pounds of methamphetamine, and the continued distribution of methamphetamine throughout the Quad-Cities area. All six could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if convicted. DPD, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, and the DEA are investigating this case. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa is prosecuting the case.
