DAVENPORT — Davenport police arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident at NorthPark Mall. Isaiah Jeremiah Randolph, 18, of LeClaire, is charged with one count of interference with official acts with a firearm, a Class D felony under Iowa law that carries a prison sentence of five years. Randolph, who was arrested several hours after the incident Sunday at the mall, also is charged with one count of carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor that carries a prison sentence of two years. Iowa – An Iowa City woman has been charged in the February death of an elderly woman she was caring for. Tara Edwards, 54, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with Dependent Adult Abuse-Intentional Serious Injury for the death of 72-year-old Marla Zimmer. On February 14, 2020, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 21 Apollo Place in Iowa City for an unresponsive individual. When they arrived, they found Zimmer dead at the residence. Carlos Andre Maxfield Jr. faces charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. DAVENPORT, Iowa – An upcoming project in west Davenport aims to help food-insecure families alleviate some of their concerns. “The Minnie Fridge” on 1220 Minnie Ave in Davenport is opening Friday. It will be a free-to-all community fridge maintained by local residents to bring healthy, free food to the community. DAVENPORT, Iowa – The City of Davenport will launch its “Small Business Resiliency Project” on Thursday to assist small businesses negatively impacted by COVID-19. City officials say they will begin accepting applications on October 15.
