For a teacher and a 5-year-old student, everything came to a standstill at a school cafeteria when the little girl began choking during lunch. Hamilton County, IOWA – According to the statement, his name is Braden Alan Johnson and he called the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department requesting help. Authorities say the 34-year-old man then refused to stop when he was approached by deputies.  Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies reported the chase on Interstate 35 through Hamilton, Story and Polk counties. They say Johnson reached speeds up to 100 mile-an-hour at times. He allegedly had a 3-year-old child inside his vehicle while being pursued. The 34-year-old man was arrested and charged.

IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Thomas Williams and he was sentenced on Monday. Prosecutors say the defendant entered a guilty plea to third degree kidnapping and he must register as a sex offender. Williams was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and an additional $250 civil penalty. In Jan. 2020, the defendant told a 10-year-old girl to stay on his bus after he dropped off other students. Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 5 p.m. Monday. It happened in the 6000 block of Deer Stone Court. Cedar Rapids Police Department responded to a report of a burglary. The responding officers found several people seriously injured from an assault. Davenport, IOWA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 7 p.m. Friday. It happened in the 4400 block of North Pine Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a report of a single motorcycle crash. Police say the motorcyclist was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. Davenport, IOWA – According to the Davenport Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 4 a.m. Tuesday.  It happened in the 1500 block of North Division Street. Davenport Police Department officers responded to a shooting call. Investigators say the 27-year-old suspect was at the home of the alleged victim and stole a firearm valued around $540. The suspect allegedly fired two rounds into the air and left on foot. His name is Danny Darnell Woodcox and he was quickly arrested. According to the court documents, the 45-year-old dad pleaded guilty this week to fatally stabbing his teenage daughter and attempting to kill his wife. Prosecutors say the father pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He faces a life sentence for the first-degree murder charge and his bail was revoked for the second. A judge will decide when he will be eligible for parole. His hearing is scheduled for December 1.
