Cedar Falls, IOWA – According to the statement, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue crews responded to a report of a residential fire at 616 West 1st Street. When the crews arrived on scene, they saw a smoke coming from all four sides of the home. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire. According to the officials, one person was found dead inside the home. He was later identified as 62-year-old Timothy Hersey. This incident remains under investigation. Linn County, IOWA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 1 p.m. Wednesday. It happened in the 3800 block of Hoosier Creek Road. Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash. Authorities say the driver of Honda Civic lost control and overcorrected. The car then entered the ditch and flipped over. Both the driver and the passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Hamilton County, IOWA – According to the statement, his name is Braden Alan Johnson and he called the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department requesting help. Authorities say the 34-year-old man then refused to stop when he was approached by deputies.  Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies reported the chase on Interstate 35 through Hamilton, Story and Polk counties. They say Johnson reached speeds up to 100 mile-an-hour at times. He allegedly had a 3-year-old child inside his vehicle while being pursued. The 34-year-old man was arrested and charged.

IOWA – According to the court documents, his name is Thomas Williams and he was sentenced on Monday. Prosecutors say the defendant entered a guilty plea to third degree kidnapping and he must register as a sex offender. Williams was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and an additional $250 civil penalty. In Jan. 2020, the defendant told a 10-year-old girl to stay on his bus after he dropped off other students.
