DAVENPORT, IOWA – A 29-year-old Davenport man, arrested Monday on a warrant, has been named as a suspect in an August shooting near a Davenport bar. Darnell Levy Sr. faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm, a felony, and reckless use of a firearm, a misdemeanor. On Aug. 2, shortly before 11 p.m., Davenport police arrived at Jack’s Locust Street Tap, 331 E. Locust St., for a report of gunfire, the arrest affidavit says. DAVENPORT, IOWA – A 38-year-old Davenport man was behind bars Sunday after narcotics detectives found a loaded gun, cocaine and meth in a vehicle and hotel room. Joshua Ennis faces felony charges of having no drug-tax stamp, felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to deliver, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was being held on $10,000 bond in Scott County Jail.  DAVENPORT, IOWA – The Winter Emergency Overflow shelter is now open in Davenport. Officials with Humility Homes & Services, Inc., along with the Scott County Housing Council, opened and are operating the shelter that serves those experiencing homelessness in the Quad Cities area. The shelter “exists in our community to add additional beds during the winter weather months,” officials said in a release. DAVENPORT, IOWA – Davenport Police are investigating a shots fired call in the 900 block of LeClaire Street. The shots were reported at 7:18 p.m. Sunday. Police found at least five spent casings along LeClaire Street. Police are checking houses and vehicles for any damage, and are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses. No injuries have been reported. The Camera Registration Program can be especially helpful during the holiday season when many are expecting deliveries to their homes. Police say investigations frequently involve officers canvassing areas surrounding a crime scene for security cameras. Knowing where cameras are located can help officers speed up investigations. DAVENPORT, IOWA – The Davenport Community School District is planning to ask for another waiver from the state to continue fully online learning as COVID-19 numbers continue to climb. The district, like many others in the Quad-Cities, recently switched to a fully remote learning model because of the Quad-Cities area’s increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
